Meta Muse vs ChatGPT Work vs Gemini Spark (2026)

No single winner. Pick Meta Muse, ChatGPT Work, or Gemini Spark by everyday actions, background work, approvals, ecosystem, and whether you can get it. ChatGPT Work is OpenAI's current name for the agent previously called ChatGPT agent.

No single winner

Depends on the job

There is no universal winner. Choose Meta Muse for everyday tasks in the US rollout with a published check before email and purchases. Choose Gemini Spark when the work lives in Google apps and your plan and country include it. Choose ChatGPT Work when the job is a finished deliverable, desktop files, or connected work apps.

How we evaluated this

Research-based. We read vendor posts and help pages dated through October 2, 2026. We did not run the three agents on the same tasks. No product led for most teams. The segment picker is the decision. The spec grid stays partial where more than one product can do the job.

Which of these are you?

Your pick

Meta Muse

Meta's September 8, 2026 launch describes a messaging-style agent on iOS, Android, muse.ai, and WhatsApp that opens a browser, fills forms, and handles email, travel, and checkout.

Tradeoff

ChatGPT Work can be better when the task is mostly finished docs, sheets, slides, and desktop files.

Don't pick Meta Muse if

Your work is mostly background work that continues with your devices off — Gemini Spark wins that workflow.

Don't pick ChatGPT Work if

Your work is mostly everyday tasks in the us, from a chat — Meta Muse wins that workflow.

What we evaluated

Evaluation criteria: Vendor launch posts, Plan cards, Region notes, Security writeups, Connection lists. Conclusions are based on primary documentation, product evidence, and workflow fit — not hands-on benchmark runs unless noted. 6 primary sources checked.

There is no universal winner among Meta Muse, ChatGPT Work, and Gemini Spark. Each one wins a different job, and two of them are still gated by country or subscription.

Naming, checked October 2, 2026. Muse on this page is Meta Muse, the personal agent Meta introduced on September 8, 2026. It is not a Google product. Google’s agent is Gemini Spark. Meta’s own model for Muse is named Muse Spark; that is a model name, not Gemini Spark. OpenAI’s current name for the agent that takes multi-step action is ChatGPT Work, announced July 9, 2026. The Help Center article still titled “ChatGPT agent” says that product name is no longer available and tells people to use ChatGPT Work. The same article still describes an older agent mode and message caps. This page does not treat those caps as the current Work price. Work has no separate subscription in the July 9 post. The URL of this decision keeps “chatgpt-agent” because that is the name buyers still search.

Who should get which one

Pick Meta Muse if you are in the US rollout and the job is everyday action from a chat: email, travel, forms, checkout. Meta says Muse runs in a dedicated Secure VM, a separate Sentinel agent has to approve anything that reaches the internet, Muse cannot see your passwords, and it asks before it sends email or pays. It keeps working after you close the app. The web address Meta published is muse.ai. AI glasses are “coming soon” on that post, not shipping in the sentence we checked. Subscription plans are mentioned with no dollar amount. Launch post, September 8, 2026, also dated September 30, 2026.

Pick Gemini Spark if the work already lives in Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, or Slides, and you can turn Spark on. Google says it runs in the background when your phone and laptop are off, connections start off, and it is designed to check before major actions. It does not read email indiscriminately. It is not on the free Gemini app. You need Google AI Pro ($19.99/month or $199.99/year) or Ultra ($99.99/month or $199.99/month for the higher limit), you need to be 18 or older, and your country has to be supported. Spark overview. The help changelog is the dated map: US English Pro access on July 16, 2026; Ultra language expansion on July 14, 2026 everywhere Gemini Apps are supported except the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom; a June 17, 2026 note also excluded Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Japan, and South Korea. Those lists do not collapse into one current map. Confirm the help page for your country before you upgrade.

Pick ChatGPT Work if the output is a doc, sheet, slide, site, or a long task across desktop files and work apps. The July 9, 2026 announcement says you approve important actions, you can schedule work that continues while you are away, and the desktop app can use a built-in browser and computer use. Plugins cover tools such as Slack, Teams, Drive, and SharePoint. Desktop Chat, Work, and Codex were announced for every plan, including Free. Web and mobile started with Pro, Enterprise, and Edu, then Plus and Business. Usage follows the Codex structure. There is no separate Work price to quote. Product link: chatgpt.com/work. Announcement.

What is not on this page

This is not the canonical model seat. ChatGPT vs Claude, ChatGPT vs Gemini, and Claude vs Gemini still decide the general assistant. This is not Meta AI vs ChatGPT. Meta AI answers inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Facebook. Muse is the agent that acts in its own secure computer.

Direct product links only. None of these three is an affiliate slot on Moneda.

What we evaluated: vendor launch posts, plan cards, region notes, security writeups, and connection lists. Evidence date: October 2, 2026. This call changes when one product is actually available to you, covers your apps, and is the only approval model you will use.
