What we evaluated

Evaluation criteria: Doc summaries, Cross-tool drafting, Wiki Q&A. Conclusions are based on primary documentation, product evidence, and workflow fit — not hands-on benchmark runs unless noted. 5 primary sources checked.

ChatGPT is the default general assistant. Notion AI is the alternate when Notion is already the OS for docs and wikis.

Notion pricing checked 7 October 2026 on notion.com/pricing. The cards show Free at $0 per member per month, Plus at $10 per member per month, and Business at $20 per member per month. Enterprise is custom. Free and Plus both say “Trial of Notion AI.” Business is the seat that includes Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, and the rest of the AI workspace list. “From $10/month” is the Plus workspace seat, not a Notion AI plan. Custom Agents are listed separately: free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits. Notion’s credit help prices monthly credits at $10 per 1,000 and annual credits at $13 per 1,000, as an add-on on Business and Enterprise.

Workers are a separate beta. Notion’s Workers help, checked the same day, says Workers are free to try on Business and Enterprise during the beta and will require Notion credits afterward. The live article does not name 15 October 2026. It describes a typical Worker run at about $0.0023, or about 4,348 runs per 1,000 monthly credits. Both buttons on this page are editorial product links.

Pick ChatGPT for cross-tool writing and research. Pick Notion AI for in-wiki summaries and drafts.

What we evaluated: summaries, cross-tool drafting, and wiki Q&A. ChatGPT won as the general seat. Notion AI won for Notion-native work.
