What we evaluated
Evaluation criteria: Visual scenario versus an AI agent builder, Credit per module action versus credit per agent run, Who the vendor says the product is for. Conclusions are based on primary documentation, product evidence, and workflow fit — not hands-on benchmark runs unless noted. 4 primary sources checked.
Make is the default when operators live on a visual scenario and will not own infrastructure. Gumloop is the alternate when the job is an AI agent across company apps. The two credits are not the same unit.
gumloop.com, checked 16 October 2026, calls Gumloop the multiplayer AI agent builder: anyone at a company can build agents with any AI model and any integration, while IT controls access. The site lists agents, triggers, skills, and artifacts.
Gumloop prices checked 16 October 2026 on the credits doc. Pro is $37/month for 20,000 credits a month: 7,400 credits at the $0.005 list price, plus 12,600 bonus credits. Enterprise is custom, and unused credits roll over only on Enterprise. One credit equals $0.005. An agent chat is the sum of model cost, tool calls, compute at 5 credits per session-minute, and an orchestration fee of 8% of those three. Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial of Pro. The trial requires a card, is offered once per customer, and rolls into paid Pro unless you cancel first. Pro credits do not roll over. Overage is $0.005 per credit. Pro overage is capped. The default ceiling is 1,000,000 overage credits per billing period, which the doc prices at $5,000.
Make prices checked 18 October 2026. On Make’s pricing page, in USD at 10,000 credits a month, Core is $12/month billed annually ($16 billed monthly), Pro is $21/month billed annually ($28 billed monthly), and Teams is $38/month billed annually ($51 billed monthly). Most actions consume 1 credit. Routers and error handlers do not. Free includes 1,000 credits a month. The page says: “Under 20 employees? Check if you qualify for our Start-up Plan and get 50% off Business.”
Make AI Provider tokens, checked 19 October 2026. As of 25 August 2026, Make calculates credits for its built-in AI Provider’s Small, Medium, and Large models with separate input and output rates, instead of one combined token total. Small and Medium are 18,080 input tokens or 2,260 output tokens per credit (previously 5,000 and 3,500 total tokens per credit). Large is 3,616 input tokens or 452 output tokens per credit (previously 1,500 total tokens per credit). Make’s help article says input tokens are significantly cheaper and output tokens are moderately more expensive, and that this change does not affect apps where you use your own API key. Updated Make’s AI Provider token pricing model.
The Make button is the partner registration path, with pc=monedaai2026, and it applies only when the recommendation is Make. The Gumloop button is gumloop.com. It is not a tracking link.
Code that is shutting down is a different page: Pipedream vs Make. The open hosted builder is Activepieces vs Make. Leaving Zapier on cost is Zapier alternatives.
What we evaluated: a hosted scenario diagram versus an agent builder, and whose credit the vendor actually defines. Make won for visual multi-SaaS ops without an infrastructure owner. Gumloop won when the work is an agent the team runs across company apps.
